Proliant 5500 SCU fails

Hi,

I have recently obtained a second hand Proliant 5500 and am having some trouble with the SCU. I have downloaded SCU version 2.58A from the website and created the 4 disks required. The system boots ok from disk 1, but when I try to configure the server it fails to recognise disk 2 as valid. It doesn't provide any reason why it doesn't like disk 2, it simply asks for it to be inserted again. I have tested all the disks in windows and they all mount correctly and are error-free.

I don't have a smart start CD, so I am really hoping I can get the floppy based SCU working. Is anyone able to offer a suggestion?

Thanks,

Rob

Re: Proliant 5500 SCU fails

Hi Rob,

I had this happen once but the fix for me was using new discs and re-downloading the softpaq.

You could try reducing the box to minimum configuration, reseat the basic components, run a system erase and also update the bios.
