Proliant 5500 and drive cages
I own a proliant 5500 server with an Compaq Smart Array 3200 controller and a simplex drivecage for up to 7 harddisks.
I populate the drivecage with 6 disks.
Whatever I try only the disks in Drive Cage A are working ....
Whatever disk I put in drive cage B only lights the amber led on the drive bay and is not recognized by the system .....
Any suggestions ?

Re: Proliant 5500 and drive cages
Hello Patrick,
You surely need a duplex card option for the second cage to function with your set up. The part no is:
Simplex/Duplex Enabler Boards (PPRO) 306569-001
Regards,

Re: Proliant 5500 and drive cages
By "duplex card option" you mean a expansion board on the Raid controller ?
On the drive cage ( cage a and b are in the smae unit as a whole ) there is only 1 scsi connector on the backplane.
The strange thing is that it did word for some hours.
