Proliant 6400R Error on Startup - Serial cable missmatch

I am getting an error saying that the wrong serial cable is connected. I have configured this server before without any problems. I know get no pre or post errors but a popup on the screen says that I need to change the serial cable. I am not sure where the serial cable it at since it is on the daughter board. So I am not sure why it says that it is the wrong serial cable?? Anyone have any ideas. I am not able to boot to any drive and such. Dead in the water. Need a life safer.

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Proliant 6400R Error on Startup - Serial cable missmatch

Scott,

This is possibly due to corrupt BIOS.

Use the Emergency Recovery Boot Procedure to reflash the BIOS. (Document attached).

Here is a link to the Proliant 6400R ROM BIOS diskette kit which you will need to complete the task.

Please read the ERBootP procedure carefully and make sure you know what to expect if it works or fails.

Hopefully this will bring it back to life.

Regards,

Brian
