Proliant 6400R HDD Upgrade
Hi, We currently have a Proliant 6400R with 2 x 9.1GB HDD that are attached to a Smart Array 221 Controller and are mirrored in a Raid 1+0 configuration. I have 2 x 18.2GB which I would like to use to replace or append to the 2 9.1GB drives. My current thoughts are a follows:
Temporarily replace the SA 221 with a 3200 Controller. Insert the 2 18.2gb HDDs and then extend the array so that I end up with a mirroring a 9.1 + 18.2 HDD to the other 9.1 + 18.2 HDD.
Would this work? If not do you have any suggestions.
Many thanks, Dave
