Proliant 800 - 215 Nonfunctioning voltage regulator...

Hi,

We have a Proliant 800 that has been running one 550Mhz processor. We have scrapped two other Proliant 800's so I took one of the processors out of the scrapped machines and stuck it in this server and I get the following message: 215-Nonfunctioning Voltage Regulator Module for Processor 2. I tried a different processor and got the same error. Am I missing some jumper or something that needs to be adjusted? Also, does anyone know how to make a DLT drive fit in this chassis? It hangs out the front, it won't fit all the way back in, it looks like it is going to hit where some of the cables plug into the motherboard.

Thank you for your help!

Tim:

Each processor in the server requires a Voltage Regulator. You need to pull the Processor Power module (PPM) from the other server you got the processor from and install this in the server.
Here is what it looks like:

It will be located very near the processor.
Enjoy!

John,

Thank you very much! I can't believe I missed something that big...I am still learning about this older hardware :-)

Thank you again!
