Proliant 800 6/350e

This server has been our Citrix server for several years. (NT 4.0 TSE) My plan was to upgrade to dual processors and Windows 2000 and put it back into service as our Citrix server. I purchased new PIII 500 processors (I picked them from the HP parts store thinking I would not run into a wrong parts problem.) Now I see that I need a processor power module for the second processor and I don't seem to be able to set the system processor speed to 500Mhz. It seems that I've botched it. What are my options from here?

Re: Proliant 800 6/350e

Brad:

Consider installing the latest BIOS (P14?) and firmware(s) from here:

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/7_1131.html
While you're there check for any newer drivers/software (for later).

This manual shows the location and settings for the Bus/Core ratio settings:

Re: Proliant 800 6/350e

Thank you! This was exactly what I needed. Appearently, I need a Processor Power Module for the second processor. I see that there are two options to choose from. How do I know which is the correct PPM?

Brad:

I don't know definitively. I'd be inclined to use the part number information from the existing PPM.
