Proliant 800 Error
I just want to confirm my suspicions that the processor died.
Immediately after the server shows the Compaq Proliant screen and goes to POST it shows the error "processor in incorrect slot! System halted!"
Current configuration, single PIII 500 in slot 1, no processor in slot 2.
Thanks in advance.
Dave

Re: Proliant 800 Error
Hello Dave,
I feel, the issue could be with the systemboard and not the processor. If there is only one processor and if that is faulty it will not start the post also. In your case it has started the post and then the error message comes up.
Try the processor and PPM in slot 2 and check if the server boots up properly.
Try a different processor in this server or try the processor in a different server.
Please gothrough the following form aswell it is for 1850R.
