Re: Proliant 800, broken PSU

Hi Vidar,

You are unlikely to be able to adapt a standard PC power supply to fix your problem.

Here is a list of Proliant 800 power supplies and models which they relate to. You do not mention which model of Proliant 800 you have (Older Pentium Pro or Pentium II/III) however I have included both power supply types here.

Proliant 800 Pentium Pro 180/200Mhz
===================================
Power supply Spare Part Number 269249-001 240 Watts. Also used on Prosignia 200 and Professional Workstation 5000 Pentium Pro models.
Alternative Spare Part is 269195-001 (280 Watt version)

Proliant 800 Pentium Early PII Models
=====================================
Power supply Spare Part Number 271916-001 325 Watts. Also used on Proliant 2500 and Proliant 1600 all PII/PIII models.

Proliant 800 Pentium II/III Later Models
========================================
Power supply Spare Part Number 320976-001 325 Watts. Also used on Prosignia 740 later models.

The 271916-001 and 320976-001 are almost identical so if you have a PII/PIII Proliant 800 either of these will do.

Have a look using a web search engine for the parts above. You may find one cheaply enough on e-bay or a computer broker hopefully.

These are Spare Part Numbers used for service calls. Most of the brokers will understand these part numbers.

Good Luck.
