Proliant 800 no "Compaq Proliant" POST screen.

When I install a "Digi AccelePort Xem" ISA card the computer when powered up does not get to the Compaq Proliant POST screen. The only activity I get from the computer is the activity light on the CDrom drive and the sync light on the NIC. This will continue untill the computer is turned off.

David:

When you installed the ISA card, make sure the I/O Assembly was "Firmly" seated into the server. You should "feel" it seat into the connector.
Next, make sure the power cables and such are all connected up.
Make sure you did not bump loose the processor cage. Give it a gentle push and make sure it is seated.
Enjoy!

I am making sure the board is seated well. I suspected a hardware problem with the card so I tried it in another Proliant 800 and it is causing the same simptoms in both machines. When the card is removed the machine boots fine.

Hmmm... Check the Digi documentation for the modem card if there are jumpers or dip switches on your model. Could just be a misconfiguration on the card that is drawing the server down.
Enjoy!
