Proliant 800 remove keyboard

How can I remove the keyboard from this machine and still boot if there is an error?

I am seeing some I/O fan error, yet all the fans are running at full speed. So if I reboot it (with no keyboard attached) it will hang at the press F1 prompt!

OTOH, if I can somehow disable the fan speed "tests" it would help as well....

Any thoughts will be appreciated!

Re: Proliant 800 remove keyboard

you can diable the F1 prompt by running f10 and doing a ctrl A this would enable advanced mode. then go system configuratio/ configure hardware/ review and modify..then choose #3 view and edit details...scroll down till you see F1 prompt and disable it then save and exit. You will no longer get prompmted to hit f1.

There is no way to bypass the POST with no keyboard attached.
Are you getting a 1611: Fan failure error?
Update the BIOS for this server.

YES Mark. thats the error I see and the BIOS is flashed as high as your last release on the web site. :-/

4.14a I believe. This is a proliant 800 P2-450 machine.

Would network server mode help me at all in this?

TIA

Orion Quest - that solved my issue 100%. I still get the stupid fan error, but the machine will happily boot. I rated a solid 10 for that one!
