I am attempting to install an ACARD PCI ATA-133 IDE Raid Adapter in order to use a couple of IDE hard drives. The problem occurs that when the Proliant boots it does not want to boot from the scsi drive, i get a "Non - System disk or disk error" message and the boot process halts. I am unable to access the ide drive in any way. If i remove the ide cable from the raid adapter leaving the raid adapter in the pci slot then the Proliant will boot ok off the scsi. As soon as i reconnect the ide cable with the other end connected to the ide drive i recieve the error message on boot
Perhaps someone has attempted this before and can set me on the right path.
