Proliant DL 370 G6 HP Insight Manager /w ESXi
Good afternoon,
Recently several hard disks have failed and HP has been asking me for diagnostics logs that I cannot get. I'm running a combination of ESXi version 4.1 from VMWARE (No HP utilities) and ESXi version 5.1 from HP. Has anybody got logs from the array controller through HP insight manager? I have insight manager setup and working. It runs fine gathering data from windows just not ESXi. I already log into my ESXi boxes via putty just fine to do things like kill VM's etc etc. So I know SSH is working. I'm using the root password to connect to ESX from HP Insight Manager. Here is an error I'm getting from HP insight manager in regard to connecting to ESXi version 5.1.
Major: The system cannot be identified properly for HP SIM to manage;
unable to get one or more of the following: model, serial number or
unique identifier (UUID). For management processors, verify the
system is running the latest firmware. For Linux based operating
systems, you must have dmidecode installed, enable the
PermitRootLogin and PasswordAuthentication in sshd, and use root
sign-in credential. For HP-UX, verify the sign-in credential. For
Windows, check if WMIMapper is configured correctly on the CMS and
verify the sign-in credential.
Critical: The system(s) can not be identified by WBEM, SNMP or SSH
Is there something I'm missing?
The 4.1 version is somewhat working but WBEM is not loading, although I'm getting some pretty cool information "Somehow"... I'm getting some hardware information and all the running VM's on there. Not sure how it's doing that yet.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,
Tim
