Proliant DL 380e G8 RAID 1+0
Hello everyone, I could use some experience help. I have bought a HP P/N 641552-001 300g HD for this server and the new HD won't rebuild my RAID 1. I have read online that I should be able to hot swap and so I did. The drive, when done, show an all amber solid light.
I can not attached jpegs of what shows in iLO 4. the system board model lists HP DynamicSmart Array B120i. Controller on Slot 2 HP Smart Array p420 controller. It is the second HD that went bad. iLO 4 shows
Any help would be appreciated,

Re: Proliant DL 380e G8 RAID 1+0
Are the disks connected to the B120i or the P420?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Proliant DL 380e G8 RAID 1+0
Is there a another way of inserting a picture into this box other than available insert/edit image? My screenshots don't appear. I show in iLO 4 Controller on Slot 2 P420.

Click on the camera symbol (Insert Photos), then click on "Choose Files" and upload your pictures.
Just in case the disk is connected to the B120i you probably need a reboot now and answer the question about the rebuild.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Camera icon is greyed out and when I click a window opens requiring me to provide path to images, title, screen resolution of images. No image is entered into this area.

Use service to sharing a photo, like this: https://imgbb.com/
After update photo, copy link of updated photo and paste in greyed camera window

Re: Proliant DL 380e G8 RAID 1+0
Unfortunalety, I was a newbie on this account of the forums and could not post pictures. The imagese were with the new HD installed and it failed to rebuild the RAID 1. I have read online that firmware is important. So if the new drive has a newer firmware hpw I can verify and what (on the images) controller is port 1 | box 1 bay 2 which should be the new drive, controller/firmware is being used?

Re: Proliant DL 380e G8 RAID 1+0
As you can see firmware is the same.
The disk is predictive failed, this means the S.M.A.R.T. counters are too high.
By the way, the ILO firmware is much too old.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
