Re: Proliant DL 385 G2
update the firmware of all components :
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3219233&prodNameId=3288112&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-6e09964448994337ad23016691
Then you can try the controller in other slot, reseat the PCI Riser.
Clear NVRAM from the maintenance switch on the sysboard and if the problem persists, maybe the Riser cage should be replaced
please tell the results then
Pac

Re: Proliant DL 385 G2
we are experiencing exactly the same issue as Jesusin and even after replacing the motherboard the problem persists.
Both the nodes in our cluster run on a Windows 2003 standard server R2 SP2 platform and are connected to a MSA500 Storage Unit with 4 phisical drives. The secondary node has been running without problems for over one month now, but the first one keeps on crashing with the PCI Bus Error ( slot 5, Bus 5, Device 0, Function 0) on almost daily basis, especially when a large Oracle database is running. When the first node crashes, that database successfully fails to the second node where it keeps on running without any issues.
Did anybody manage to find a solution?
Thank you,
Best Regards,
Fab
