Re: Proliant DL 580 Fan failure alerts forces Windows Server 1003 to shutdown
seems like the fan control/sensor has failed...If you have active warranty you can request replacement.
You can run Insight Diags Offline to test the HW, further in the Advanced Survey there are temperature entries for every fan. If you see there big values it seems like the sensor reports high temp values and this causes ASR to shutdown the server, even if it is operating ok.

Re: Proliant DL 580 Fan failure alerts forces Windows Server 1003 to shutdown
I recommend you to update the health driver.
If this driver is not working properly, windows will shut down the server as precaution (temperature threshold will be exceeded)
If issue persists please rollback the driver

SolutionThere are 2 settings for ASR, settable in the ROM BIOS Setup or via the Systems Management Homepage: Shutdown or Continue. If Shutdown is selected, it will shutdown. If the driver is not present, instead of doing a graceful shutdown, the system will go down hard. If Continue is selected, the system will continue (until such time as the system can't go on anymore--the "critical" threshold), but you had better have the Insight agents reporting to you so that you can take an appropriate action.
If you believe that the error is happening erroneously, the solution will be in the hardware.
