All,
We have a newer data center. The electrical outlets are to code. Stating this, we have experienced the following:
In the past 2 months or so, we've replaced at least 4 redundant power supplies on HP Proliant DL Series servers (mostly DL380s). This can't be normal. I'm currently searching the web for similar issues with these power supplies. Anyone out there have experienced a higher then normal rate of power supply failures in your Proliant servers?
Thanks,
Bob

Solution
DL380 G5?
Don't worry, DL380 G5, ML350 G5, ML370 G5 and DL385 G2 all use the same power supply and old revisions of this item are often faulty.
There's an advisory about this, and if you search these forums there are posts with the same problem.

Re: Proliant DL Series power supplies
Thanks!
I'm obviously not searching in the right area(s) for info on the power suppies. Nice to know we aren't the only ones having this issue (I guess).
