Proliant DL120G7 - RAID Controller License ?
Just encountered the "Manage License" option in the Raid controller bios.
What is this for ?
What features do i get when entering a license and what licenses are available ?
And a bit off topic, the spell checker does not know the word/name "Proliant" ?
Shame ... ;)

Re: Proliant DL120G7 - RAID Controller License ?
hi,
if you are talking about the onboard B110i controller - you can buy a Hot Plug Advance Pack License .
"
The HP Smart Array Hot Plug Advanced Pack for B110i provides the raid support for the embedded SATA controller. The Hot Plug Advance kit is a License to enable the RAID support on Hot Plug models. It supports up to six 3G SATA hard disk drives. It will support a maximum of two (2) logical drives. It supports Raid 0, 1 and 1+0.
"
regards,

Re: Proliant DL120G7 - RAID Controller License ?
Hi and thx for the info's.
@PGTRI
I'm not sure if your answer means (additional) hot plug controllers or hot plug hdds ?
But if hdd is meant, then without the license the controller would not support hot plugging of defective hdds ?
@Suman_AN
These additional features sound "reasonable", thanks for the info's and links.

hi,
"But if hdd is meant, then without the license the controller would not support hot plugging of defective hdds ?"
correct
The B110i (onboard controller) does not support hot plug hard drives without license.
