Proliant DL140 and Windows 2003

I just installed Windows 2003 Standard Edition on a Proliant DL140. Windows did not recognize the serial port. When I chose to install the port manually (using the Add Hardware option), I am getting a yellow exclamation point on the port (it sets itself automatically to COM3)and if you look at the properties, it shows a red circle with a slash through it over the IO range. I have tried setting various IO ranges in the BIOS but I always get this same result no matter what. The conflicting devices list shows: Input/Output Range 03F8 - 03FF used by:
ACPI Multiprocessor PC.

I think there may be a problem with the Proliant DL140 and Windows 2003. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a solution?

Thanks.

Hello james,
This is how I resolved an issue similar to yours:

Hit delete key before proliant splash screen

Choose advanced options then disable remote access

Please let me know if this worked.
