Proliant DL320 vs Win2000 (Advanced) Server
I have to Proliant DL320 which, so far, work flawless under Linux. Now, I have to install on one of them Windows 2000. Unfortunately, the servers are second-hand and we didn't get the SmartStart CD which i've heard that is needed (matter of facts we didn't get anything else but the computers).
Windows 2000 installation program stops after loading the primary drivers saying that it doesn't find any fixed drive on the computer. The hard-drive is SCSI and works well under Linux.
Is there any other way to install it beside finding a SmartStart cd somewhere? Or, better, is there any place I can find a SmartStart cd available for download? (that is if it is supposed to be so).
Thank you in advance.
E.

You can get the G1 drivers here: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1234.html
And the G2 drivers here: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1234.html
Let me know if this helps....

Re: Proliant DL320 vs Win2000 (Advanced) Server
I solved the problem. A fellow of mine had a SmartStart 5.10 CD which I borrowed. I made a 'paq' diskette for windows 2000 and it seems I managed to start installing windows on the server. Advanced server even, altough I saw in the OS matrix that the OS is not supported. That doesn't mean that it can't be installed, just that it isn't supported.
thanks for the help,
E.
