Proliant DL360 G5 - Fedora or Suse 10 Enterprise server

Hey Everyone,

Can someone please tell me why I should run Fedora instead of Suse 10 Enterprise on a DL360 G5 server? Are there any issues with running Fedora? Will it affect server performance? Can I use HP SIM?

Look forward to anyone response.

Cheers,

Mark

Hello Mark,

FC is freely available.
Though its not in the official OS support matrix, people have successfully installed Fc.
I have'nt heard of performance issue.
If there's is one then its because of the cciss driver for sure.
Afaik, there's nothing much one can do about it atm.
Are you planning to install HP SIM on FC?

SLES10 is'nt free i suppose.
Its in the OS support matrix which means HP has agents for SLES.
