Proliant DL360 G5 controller upgrade from E200i to P400i
We have a ProLiant DL360 G5 with 4 hdd (2xMirror -system- and 2xMirror -data-). We have bought the P400i controller to upgrade the embedded E200i for being able to use 2 more disks (6 total).
I understand that by replacing the controller for the new P400i, the OS (WS2003) will not boot.
How can i do to solve this? Is there any way to install the P400i drivers on the actual system with te E200i before replacing the controller?

Re: Proliant DL360 G5 controller upgrade from E200i to P400i
turn off your server
try inserting the p400 controller so the OS will recognize the p400 having both controllers installed
once recognized turn off your
server cable HDDs to p400
and let server boot again

Re: Proliant DL360 G5 controller upgrade from E200i to P400i
Hi,
I think you are referring to controller migration from E200 to P400 controller, If so:
You can refer to an advisory involving controller migration at the following link:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00180566&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
Thanx.
