Proliant DL360 Gen 8 and HPE Dual 8GB microSD EM USB kit

Hi all,

i always received my brand new proliant with embedded HPE Dual 8GB microSD EM USB kit and never had problems.

Here i have an existing DL360 Gen 8, that i updated with HP SPP 1704 (sems the best for gen 8, can someone confirm ?) and when i install ESXi custom image (VMware-ESXi-6.5.0-Update2-9298722-HPE-preGen9-650.U2.9.6.8.3-Sep2018.iso) it told me that there is 0 MiB on the card.

I put it in my laptop and can only see 47Kb VFS LUN with some .TXT on it.

I read the user doc, they say it is ready to use, nothing about a way to initialize it.

Can somebody give me some hint about what i could do ?

Hi,

a little up as i'm still stuck on this problem and really can not figure where the issue is.

I try to install spp 1704 then 1710 then 1803 and reset server config

Maybe there is a way to reset the key ? Or something to do in RBSU ?

do you need more info ?

It works with Gen9 servers only, see

The config tool is embebbed in UEFI, Gen8 has no UEFI at all.

HP Dual 8GB microSD is supported only on Gen9 Servers, Gen8 Servers are not listed, seems it is already answered in the link below.

My vendor told me it is compatible with gen 8, that is why i do not really worry with that !

I'll go ahead an put some disks :)
