Re: Proliant DL360 gen8 accepts no keyboard input
Thank you, that is exactly the problem I have.
I followed the instructions but there is something I still do not understand.
I downloaded the toolkit to a windows 7 desktop, is this where I run the conrep tool? I am asking because there doesn't seem to be a parameter to give it the IP address of my server?
If the idea is to run the conrep tool via a livecd boot, this will not work - there is no cd on the server.
Is there not a way to reset to factory defaults using jumpers or switches?
Thanks

It would be helpful if you could correct the subjects of all your previous posts here: Post Options > Edit Reply

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
Hello,
You need a remotly access to the CentOS, Install HP scripting toolkit for Linux.
Then you save your current RBSU setting to a file called romdata.dat, find section on USB and enable, then reload the file back to the ROM and reboot
The syntax is
Save curret config:
conrep -s -f romdata.dat -x conrepDL160G6-SL160zG6_20100723.xml
Load changes:
conrep -l -f romdata.dat -x conrepDL160G6-SL160zG6_20100723.xml
Thanks @Jimmy Vance for this advisory

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
Hello,
If you cannot access to Centos please use ILO command-line to reset your server:
-Open a Terminal connection to the IP address (use PuTTY for Windows)
-Login with an Administrator account
-At the command </>hpiLO-> type: cd /map1
-Press Enter then type: </map1>hpiLO-> reset hard

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
Thanks for the reply.
</map1>hpiLO-> reset hard status=0 status_tag=COMMAND COMPLETED Sun Dec 16 02:34:27 2012 Resetting iLO.
I'm afraid this did not work. I tested the both keyboards (virtual and usb) and both do not respond.
My previous configuration had 1 logical drive in Raid 1 with a hotswap. During POST I see that this is still active. Shouldn't the 'reset hard' command reset everything, including raid config bios settings?
If not, can I use the ILO CLI to do so?

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
I unplugged everything, removed the battery for 10 minutes and restarted.
The logical raid drive is still present during POST, so it seems removing the battery did not accomplish the reset to factory defaults.
I have tried to find, through the ILO CLI, some commands to reset the factory defaults of the whole server config (not just Ilo itself).
Is this possible?
Thanks

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
Setting SW6 on will reset the system ROM to factory default. This will not clear array configuration

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
There are "reserved/undocumented switches" on the board, would any of these help reset the BIOS?

Re: Proliant DL360 G8 accepts no keyboard input
Switch 6 is what resets the BIOS, if you've already done that and the system still doesn't work you should call HP and initiate a support ticket to get a new system board.
