Proliant DL380 Beeping

Evertime I start the DL380, I get long audible beeps, one after another about 1 second apart from each other. Screen stays blank and does not post. Anyone have a clue?

You got 2 long beeps?
What color of health indicators near the power button?
If internal health is red, remove a cover and look into the red leds on motherboard. Schema on cover explains leds.
What generation is your DL380?
Also you can look into troubleshooting guide.

Re: Proliant DL380 Beeping

the color of the health is red, i assume this is not good, lol. Also the machine keeps beeping, one after another and does not stop.

First light is RED
second light is YELLOW

I dont know what generation it is, but its a dual pentium 3.

Have any cards been added into the server?

Have the memory DIMM's been re-seated?

Re: Proliant DL380 Beeping

reset riser, pull out all memory and install only minimum, swap with another memory if it won't work first time, pull all card from riser, clear NVRAM last step

Re: Proliant DL380 Beeping

First red, second amber, PIII - check left top corner if you have G2 (gray color bezel).

Open top cover check for amber LED, see User Guide for more help
