Proliant DL380 G3 Fans Question

I am configuring a new HP Proliant DL380 G3 server with Windows 2000 server. The operating system has been loaded and all support management utilites have also been loaded. All fans (including redundant) are still turning at maximum rpms. Our three other Compaq DL380 G2 systems, once loaded with Windows 2000 server, would cause the fans to run at a slower rpm. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I am missing?
Thanks in Advance

Re: Proliant DL380 G3 Fans Question

The fan speed is no longer controller by the OS (or it's System Management driver) but by the BIOS since G2. If your fans are running at full speed, there might be a valid reason (you have 2 CPU's and 6 HDD for example).
