Proliant DL380 G4

Hi all, bought the above to use as a lab for training and it didnt come with the power leads.  Comes with dual PSU's.

1.  There are no power cables, can I use a standard kettle lead on one PSU in the interim?  Or do I require a specific one for the proliant, always thought these would be fine and seen them used before.

2.  Not too bothered about redundancy so happy to run on the one for the minute, assume this will be fine from the house mains straight in?

TIA

Re: Proliant DL380 G4

HP has a great matrix spreadsheet publically available to advise on power cords for use with ProLiant servers:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/hp_power_cord_option_kits_w7_08_updates.xls

There's no problem necessarily with running on one power supply, but HP systems do intelligently use dual power supplies to reduce workload and strain on power supplies and increase life expectency, so it's definitely strongly recommended that if you have two power supplies that you power both of them.

Hope this helps!
