Proliant DL380 G5 & Windows Server 2008 R2
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to install Windows Server 2008 R2 onto a Proliant DL380 G5. So far quite unsuccessful :-(
When i try to install the Server using the Smartstart 8.7b x64 everything starts good, after the first reboot Windows server starts installing but after the second reboot during the installation; bang: it seems the is no OS on drive C: anymore.
Well and if I try to install Windows Server 2008 R2 without the Smartstart, well, I can sse the disk, I can partition the disk but when I press next for the Installtion to begin it tells me "Setup was unanble to create a new system partion......" That happens even after I provided the driver for the P400 Smart Array Controller.
I already upgraded the Firmware of the Server with the Firmware DVD 10.10
If sound a bit frustrated, well I'm since spent > 6 hrs trying to install that *!"§/? Server
I hope somebody here can hepl me out.
Thanks in advance,
Sven
