Proliant DL380 G7 HDD Bay Failure
My HP Proliant DL380 was working fine until one day a HDD bay failed. I replaced the HDD and it still showed that the bay had failed. Here's what I've tried to fix the bay. I get the orange light on Array 1 Bay 4 (bottom left most bay) regardless of what hdd I put in it.
- Unplugged all parts involved in the HDD management all the way to the RAID controller (smart array P410i).
- Tried different hdds all that get put in that space aren't read and they make a clicking noise (likely caused by spinning up and stopping abruptly)
- Draining the server of power
- Cleaning the bay
- Updating every firmware involved
- Deleting and rebuilding the array it was involved in
Anyone have this problem and find a way to fix it? Let me know if you need more information.
