Proliant DL380 G7 extended drive cage options
Hi All,
I need to expand my storage, I already have the Drive Cage Kit 496074-001/507690-001 ready to replace the optical drive with.
I'm not sure if the existing HP Smart Array p410i can support the additional SAS drives (I suspect that it can't, from what I understand each internal port sup[poirts 4 sas drives).
Am I able to install another Smart Array p410 controller and at the same time use the existing p410i or do I need to disable the p410i and use 468406-B21?
Kind Regards
Jim

Re: Proliant DL380 G7 extended drive cage options
Hi, JimiT
Do you can use both controlles together.
But not is used in sambe cage conected,
The SA-P410 Controller supports up to 24 drives depending on the server implementation

Re: Proliant DL380 G7 extended drive cage options
You have the choice - you can either connect the new cage to another controller or the existing built-in controller + SAS expander card.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
