Proliant DL380 G7 has amber light indicating failed hard drive tried to replace

I ran SmartStart ADU. Server is running Fedora 22. I replaced the supposed hd with a new one, same issue, amber light stays on, not blinking.  I ran the hard drive test form the DVD and you can see a pic of the results all 4 drives appear ok. Full results below.

It seems like your server isn't seeing the hard drive at all which could indicate a wiring issue on the backplane, possibly.  I would suggest inspecting the drive bay to make sure there isn't any visible damage to the hot-plug port and check any wiring on the backplane.

I've even seen cases where the drive cage/backplane itself was misaligned (a metal tab sticking out funny preventing the backplane from seating properly) which allowed the drive to function, but kept any drive from being detected as a genuine HP drive (that was on a G8).  In other words, slight misalignments can cause strange things, or a loose cable connection, etc.

An HP tech was here a looked at the connections and he said they looked good. He suggested that the RAID array itself might be damaged or replacing the backplane. Note Insight from the DVD did not see the bay but ACU did.
