Proliant DL380/G7 vs Intel SSD 510 Series - shows as overheating
Hi,
I tried to install 3 Intel SSD drive. I created a RAID 5 logical volume on.
When I boot my OS. the overheat light comes on and the fan runs at full speed.
first, I thought that's the discs that were defective, but after doing some research I found this link.
http://communities.intel.com/thread/21282?start=30&tstart=0
which states that this behavior is of a temperature sensor that goes back information not interpreted by HPsystem BIOS.
Intel SSDs do not have any support for SMART attribute 194. There is no thermistor. The SMART attribute isn't even listed/provided by the drive when it responds to ATA feature command 0xd0 (obtain SMART attributes and their data).
how can I resolve this issue, knowing I did the update of the framework to version 9.3.
system config:
description: Rack Mount Chassis
produit: ProLiant DL380 G7 (583966-421)
fabriquant: HP
numéro de série: CZ2041GB95
bits: 64 bits
raid controler HP Smart array P410i.
Regards
Grizli.

Re: Proliant DL380/G7 vs Intel SSD 510 Series - shows as overheating
Hey!
Sounds like something that maybe should be updated in a driver.
Best to rectify this may be to contact HP support and try to get a request in for a bug report on this so they can confirm the behavior and get a fix.
