Proliant DL380 G8 with Samsung SM951 SSD
Hello,
We have bought a Samsung SM951 SSD drive PCI-e (photo) to use in our Proliant DL380 G8 server.
We have put a SQL server database on it, after a while the database becomes corrupt.
SQL gave errors like:
Unable to read and latch page (1:7224143) with latch type SH. 1117(The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.) failed.
Before this we had another SSD drive.. we have returned it to the supplier because it was very slow.
But now, we are in doubt if it will ever gonna to work.
What is wrong here? Is it impossible to use a PCIe device in the Proliant G8 server?
Hope you can help us.

Re: Proliant DL380 G8 with Samsung SM951 SSD
We use SSD's together with the Smart Array controller, instead of normal hard drives. Performance is good and you don't need an additional driver that possibly has issues.

Thank you for the answer. What type of SSD do you use?
