Proliant DL380 GL4 No Display
Hi,
I have two problems that coming at once. 1st problem is HD faulty, 2nd one is no display at all at monitor
SERVER SPEC:
Proliant DL380 GL4
2x512MB RAM
2x73GB HD
3x143GB HD
Problem2:
for defective HD, I need 1 pc of this HD
146.8GB 10K RPM Ultra Wide 320 SCSI
HP MODEL: BD14688278
HP PN: 360205-013
Problem1:
STEPS TAKEN
-reseat RAM, result still no display
remove all RAM will create long beep sound. put it back will produce no beep, that mean System Board respond
-reseat CPU, result still no display
-reseat PCI Riser Card, result still no display
-reseat Power Backplane cable, result still no display
-unplug battery for 10m and plug back, result still no display
-reset NVRAM by set SWITCH #6 on, result still no display
-plugin sun raptor pci video card and connect to monitor, result no display
-flashing amber light happening in Battery-backed write cache. According to book c00218203.pdf p26, if that happen that mean "An open exists in the circuit between the positive and negative terminals of the battery
module."
I am checking the battery voltage and find battery ok (3v)
The forum said, the last option is System Board which is expensive.
Any other idea.
I never encounter MotherBoard die in 2yrs with SUN or DELL. Usually only HD.
This is 1st time happen in HP.
Warranty already expired on April.
thanks

Re: Proliant DL380 GL4 No Display
Hi Nawir,
if you have DL380G4 you should first try to access via ILO port from any mobile device if you configure him.
Then if you don't have response, I'm affraid that you must replace MB.
I assume that you checked led indicators on MB, PPM, CPU, DIMM!
I'm sorry man, but you have try everything.
KR,
