Proliant DL380 drive mixed firmware from HPB2 to HPB9
I have a DL380 with no drives. I have six used 73GB drives I want to put into this DL380. I used the firmware upgrade CD and it said that the firmware was up-to-date for each of the last four drives (drives 4-6, firmware HPB5 – B9), but for the first two drives (drives 1 & 2, firmware HPB2 & HPB4) the firmware CD did not offer any information about the drives, it did not even mention the two drives were installed.
I did upgrade the controller firmware as the CD recommended.
Can I use this firmware mixture and the below drives safely in my DL380?
Drive Model Firmware
1. BF07288285 HPB2 CD did not offer any firmware information about this drive
2. BF072863BA HPB4 CD did not offer any firmware information about this drive
3. BF0728A4CB HPB5 CD says firmware is up-to-date for this model drive
4. BF0728A4CB HPB5 CD says firmware is up-to-date for this model drive
5. BF0728A4CB HPB5 CD says firmware is up-to-date for this model drive
6. BF0728B26A HPB9 CD says firmware is up-to-date for this model drive
Thanks!
