Proliant DL385 G1 shutdown problem

Hi,

We have a Proliant DL385 G1 server with dual power supplies which has mysteriously shut itself down twice over the last couple of weeks.

From the event log you would think that someone has actually selected 'shutdown' from within Windows 2003 except there was no-one in the building at the time of the shutdown.

On the first occasion the server appeared to come back up after 3 hours. On the second occasion - this weekend - it stayed down. The power button on the server was amber and the server would not come back on when pressing this button. The NIC lights on the front of the server were both on and green.

However, after unplugging the power cables for 10-15 seconds and reconnecting them, the server would power back up through the power on button. There are no failure or warning messages in the event log other than this one:-

Anyone got any ideas what might be wrong ?

Thanks,

Rob.

Re: Proliant DL385 G1 shutdown problem

Thanks Maximus,

The first is up to date, but I'll apply the second one and see what happens.

Cheers,

Rob.
