Hi,
OS: RedHat 6.3
I just installed our new DL385 G8. I installed a HP Qlogic FC card. Made the fibre connections between the server and the SAN switch but I cannot get the HP Array configuration Utility to see the P2000. I have updated all the firmware I can find. The kernel loads the FC drivers and sees the device, see output from dmesg below.
udev: starting version 147 power_meter ACPI000D:00: Found ACPI power meter. scsi 4:0:0:0: RAID COMPAQ MSA1000 5.20 PQ: 0 ANSI: 4 scsi 4:0:1:0: RAID COMPAQ MSA1000 5.20 PQ: 0 ANSI: 4 scsi 4:0:2:0: Enclosure HP P2000 G3 FC T230 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5
I also have an MSA 1500 on the SAN switch but the DL385 is not seeing that controller either. However the existing HP DL servers I have can see the new PC adapter when I run the HP ACU command line utility.
Below is a list of packages I have installed so far
hpsmh-7.1.1-1.x86_64 hp-snmp-agents-9.0.0.48-49.rhel6.x86_64 hponcfg-4.0.0-0.noarch hpacucli-9.0-24.0.i386 hp-smh-templates-9.0.0.36-35.all.noarch hplip-common-3.10.9-3.el6.x86_64 hplip-libs-3.10.9-3.el6.x86_64 hp-ams-1.0.0-570.rhel6.x86_64 hp-health-9.0.0.48-44.rhel6.x86_64
I must be missing something. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Dermot

Re: Proliant DL385 not seeing FC P2000
Hello, exacatly as mentioned above, FC array is managed completely different than local storage. And - if you use SAN switches you nedd to create SAN zones between server and storage (not nedded when connected directly)
