Proliant DL580 G5 w/ NC364T Network Adapter
I have a brand new DL580 g5, and I am planning to install a 4-port N364T Gigabit network adapter.
I see in all the documentation that this card supports x4, x8. and x16 slots. Is there any benefit to putting it in any slot faster than x4, or does it not matter? Thanks.

Re: Proliant DL580 G5 w/ NC364T Network Adapter
Hi!
Data path
Four lane (x4) PCI Express compatible with x1, x4, x8, and x16 PCI Express slots
From what I can gather from the above statement is that the card is 4x but it can fit in x1, x8 and x16 aswell. So no it doesn't matter if you put it in a x8 or x16 slot because it will only use 4 paths anyway.
