Proliant DL580

I have a DL580 with 2 5300 controllers installed and 6 4354 storage cabinets .
The server reboots almost everday when idle and at random times.
I cannot tie it to any certain function the server is peerforming.
Any ideas out there.

Re: Proliant DL580

Any errors in the event viewer? If not, except for maybe "last shutdown was unexpected", then I would say this is caused by a PPM going bad.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Proliant DL580

Is the failing unit a DL580 G1 or G2?

What is the FW revision on the SA5300 controller cards?

Re: Proliant DL580

It is a G1.
Also there is no events recorded in the event log
We turned the ASR off hopefully to get a memory dump but all the server did was to lock up and not do a dump.

Have you called in to support on this yet?

Re: Proliant DL580

Yes I have and am getting no where.
They are having me replace multiple parts.but are literally guessing since there is nothing to trace on the reboots since they are at random

Re: Proliant DL580

What is the FW revision on the SA5300 controller cards (i.e. FW 2.86, 2.92..)?
