Proliant DL580G2 & RA4100 Storage Array
I have
2x DL580G2
1x RA4100
I am trying to configure the servers to use the RA4100 using the smart start cd provided. However when I use the Array configuration utility (ACU) in smart start it does not detect the RA4100. The ACU provided in smart start v5 detects it. Is it possible to use the ACu provided with SmartStart 5 to configure the Server rather than using version 6 which is not detecting the RA4100?

Re: Proliant DL580G2 & RA4100 Storage Array
SmartStart 6 boots Linux, SmartStart 5 boots Win98. So all SmartStart tools which are used when booting from SmartStart CD had to be rewritten.
Are you configuring a Win2K cluster ? In that case you can install the cluster nodes first. Then use ACU from Win2K to configure the RA4100.

Re: Proliant DL580G2 & RA4100 Storage Array
That helped a lot. However, I cant understand why SmartStart 6 didnt recognise the RAID Array even though verion 5.5 could. Might be something for the smartstart developers out there to solve.

Re: Proliant DL580G2 & RA4100 Storage Array
My customer wants to connect two DL380G3 servers in cluster with the old RA4100 Storage. The servers are to be used in a No Single Point of Failure.
The customer is to use the earlier 1GB controller the 176479-B21 (this PCI card used a 5V power Supply) on the DL380G3.
Will this work with DL380G3 and RA4100 Storage.
Also will the secure path 165989-B24 (Secure path V4.0B) work with RA4100 ??
If no, will the P/N 380357-B23 the HA/F200 work with these two server in NSPOF with RA4100 in cluster.
The Operating System is Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
