Proliant DL585 G1 and Smartstart 7

I am looking for help loading Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition on a new DL585.

Several issues arise when I attempt to use the shipped Smartstart 7 to install Microsoft's Volume License Version of Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition on our server.

1) Smartstart tells me that the operating system does not support greater than 8GB of RAM. - We know that Win2K3EE supports 32GB or 64GB based on the processor

2) Device Manager shows no drivers are loaded for the two embedded Ethernet adapters -- WHY?

3) Device Manager shows no drivers are loaded for the 6 System Interrupt Controllers -- WHY?

Server specs:

DL-585 G1
16GB RAM
2 - 72GB HDDs
4 - 2.2GHz Opteron procs

The drive component included in smart start doe s not support the NC7782 NIC. You would need to use the newer driver that includes the NC7782

The server uses the AMD 8000 series chipset. Try the ship set drivers:

ThereтАЩs your problem!!! This thing is set to EVIL!
