Proliant DLT drive
Hi to dlt backup gurus
One of my proliant servers on my home network has a Compaq DLT 15/30 internal tape drive. I have never used this since installing win2k server(no service packs installed), but now have tried to get this in use, by using 2k servers backup software, but it wont work advising me to restart the removable storage service, when i try to do this it hangs and wont restart (the service not the server).
bootup event IDs 7001,7022,7003
Is there any known problems, that service packs or compaq software/firmware will cure? The DLT drive physically functions OK no warning/error lights and powers up ok.
Excuse my ignorance, but my day job is only in pc rollouts, have not touched servers since NT
It would be seriously appreciated if a Proliant guru can help me with this problem
Thanks in anticipation.
Sean

Re: Proliant DLT drive
Sean,
I would say problem is not with DLT or server, but with w2k OS. Read this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B316500
