Proliant HDD in old Netservers

Hello there,

Have you ever tried to install Proliant Disks in a NetServer say in LC2000?
By all means I have to change the HDD tray but as firmware and SCSI speeds will it work?

Plz reply.

Thanks

Re: Proliant HDD in old Netservers

They can not join or replace existing disks but will work together or alone. Firmware will say Compaq, but does not effect operation. "SCSI speed" is not a viable term, but the SCSI interface will depend on the legacy of the drive (Ultra2,3,320 backward compatible) and the rotational speed only effects the local (in each HD) read and write speeds.

Re: Proliant HDD in old Netservers

Thanks for the reply,

In fact I was suggesting the client to install only new drives and not mix them with the old ones.
As for SCSI speeds HDD are backward compatible so they should work too.

thanks again
