Proliant ML 330 G3 Raid 1 disk error

Event error 1187: ATA Raid Logical Drive status change. ATA raid logical drive number 4 on the "CSB-6 Ultra ATA-100 IDE Raid controller" in slot 0 has a new status of 3 (degraded).
Is this an indication of one of my mirror HD is going bad? How should I fix this problem?

I think that the disk is gone, to fix the problem you need to change the disk.
Maybe the disk is only offline and you can try to put it on the raid again from the bios (or if have installed from the software), but i think the disk is damaged, buy one and change it ASAP!

Yes, if your Raid is degraded, its means that one HDDs causes and Issue on the Controller.

Please check with:
HP ProLiant CSB-6 ATA-100 IDE RAID Management Utility for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23405.html

Or try a Rebuilt within the controller bios!
Otherwise replace the drive.

Re: Proliant ML 330 G3 Raid 1 disk error

Thanks for the suggestions. The controller bios identified one hard drive. I turned off the machine reset the connectors. Reentered the bios, now the bios sees two HD and status changed from degraded to rebuilding. Three hours later the monitor shows good status and the event log upgraded to "ok". I will keep my I on the status.

How am I able to identify which drive is bad?
