Proliant ML 370 G4 shuts down unexpectantly
I have an ML 370 G4 that shuts down unexpectantly. This has occurred 4 or 5 times in the last couple of months.
The server does not reboot, but shuts down. It is running Windows 2003 Server Std version, SP1. It has the latest Proliant Support pack , version 7.4 . McAfee anti-virus, and latest patches from Microsoft.
Any ideas on these unexpected shut downs. Event logs do not show anything abnormal.
Thanks
Roger

Re: Proliant ML 370 G4 shuts down unexpectantly
Thid could be a defective on/off switch.
You could try disconnecting the on/off switch from the system board. You would have to power on/off through ilo.
I have seen this once. Problem was solved after replacing power on/off switch.

Specifically, do you mean the server is powering itself off? Or the OS is shutting down but server remains power on?
Exactly which logs have you checked?

If there are no errors in any of the logs, disable the ASR and then generate the logs.
However disabling ASR is not recommended it can be done for T/S purposes
