Proliant ML110 G5 won't power up after power outage
The server will not power up. Fans cycle on and off continuously. PSU light flashes on with the fans. Standby light is on. Heartbeat is flashing. Unplugged all drives and DVD, no change. No output to monitor. Ordered a new power supply. Will that fix it?

Re: Proliant ML110 G5 won't power up after power outage
Hi,
I doubt that PSU will fix the issue.
Issue could be with system board or RAM or even with processor.
Remove additional RAM, pci cards and hardware that is not necessary for boot.
Remove any external USB storage devices that are attached.
Try with a different RAM stick and/or swap processor if you have any.
Thank You!
I am a HP employee

Re: Proliant ML110 G5 won't power up after power outage
I tried reseating PSU, processor, DVD and all four sata drive connections. Most of the time it just cycles the fans on and off when power is applied. When it does power up I get one long beep followed by two short. On the screen I get...
the system battery is dead, replace and run setup.
CMos checksum error
BMC System Error log (sel) Full
I got it to boot by re enabling RAID under the setup utility.
Do I just need a new battery?

Re: Proliant ML110 G5 won't power up after power outage
It ran fine all night. Today I ran a full system backup. Shut it down. Unplugged it. Replaced the CR2032 battery. Plugged it back in and back to the fans cycling on/off continuously. I don't have a spare memory card, processor or motherboard for this. What next?

Re: Proliant ML110 G5 won't power up after power outage
Tried a new Power supply this morning, no change. Ordered a system board. I can get it to start by removing the battery, clearing the cmos.

Re: Proliant ML110 G5 won't power up after power outage
Replaced the motherboard, no change. Powered up the first time ok. Enabled Raid in the bios and booted ok. Ran Shutdown and reapplied power and the same problem. Fans cycle on and off continuously.
