Proliant ML110 G5

I've just purchased the above server and want to install a linux based OS.

I have installed CentOS 5.3 - however, it appears to be too slow. Do i need to install the drivers from the HP website ?. When I tried, I get an unsupported kernel error.

Thanks,
Anand

I had the same problem. You have to enter bios, under Advanced -> Advanced chipset control -> Serial ATA Native mode operation select Serial ATA instead of Auto.

I have a configuration with 2 SATA drives in Raid software and with this setting to AUTO it used hd devices (legacy ide).
