Proliant ML150 G2 -- Trying to rebuild - OS won;t recognize Hard drive

I have a server that has 3 maxtor 80GB SATA/RAID drives.

They are not configured in an array, and show up as 3 separated (JBOD) drives on POST.

But Windows server 2003 install won;t recognize the hard drives.
I downloaded the embedded SATA (SATA.img) drivers from HP onto a floppy, but after I load additional storage drivers, the install still don;t recognize the hard drives (they are hot swap drives in a 6 pack chassis)

any ideas?

Karlo,

Install program didn't recognize this driver at all.

First thing to check. Where are the hard drives connected? Depending on where the hard drives are connected, download & use the appropriate driver.

Second thing: which device are you using to provide the drivers (USB FDD / USB Thumbdrive)?

Adric:

The hard drives are connected to the RAID card through SATA cables, as they come from HP.

I am using a floppy (yes one of those antiques)

Check for POST messages, does POST initialize the controller (if yes, which controller) & the hard drives?

If you have SATA drives, you may be using 6-Port SATA controller. Looking at POST messages will show whether the hard drives are getting detected by the server at all. If they are not, there is no chance that OS setup will.

Also, in BIOS check if RAID needs to configured or otherwise.

Hope this helps!
