Proliant ML310 G5. Controller SATA

I'm experiencing some problems with my new Proliant ML310 G5. There are 2 sata disk in mirror, configured in the mb embedded sata controller. OS: windows XP Pro

Problems:
- extremely low data transfer speed with ntbackup saving backup in usb disks
- defrag automatically pauses after few seconds with hte message: Sospesa per copia replicata volume, in english it shoul sound like "suspended for replica volume copy"
- the CLI utility: "no controllers detected"

Can you help me please?

ps dont mind the caps its this special kvm .............

Hi Cato,,

HMMM...
sounds like you have volume shadow copy running while you are doing a backup

* Start > then type: services.msc in the search bar then confirm
* Double click on the service: Volume shadow copy
* Change the startup type to Manual
* Then click on Stop

inservices on recovery tab

select for first failture ,, "take no action"
same for second

and same for subsequent
and finally set resest failcounter to zero

then aPPLY OKAY

WAIT ABOUT 1 MINUTE

NOW RUN YOUR BACKUPS

ENJOY :)

Re: Proliant ML310 G5. Controller SATA

Hi Mark, thank you for the replay.

The service "Volume shadow copy" was already set to manual, in Stop State. The actions in case of failure, in the Recovery tab, was also in "take no action", as you suggest.

Maybe it's a problem with the USB controller, what do you think?
I would to update the USB controller driver, where can I find the driver for Windows XP?

Thanks

make sure in bios f9 that usb controller is set to usb 2 as 1 is the default,

and in device manager in windows that is if you have usb 2 working correcttly

I've solved the problem updating the chipset driver.

Thank you very much, ciao!
