Proliant ML330 G3 - SCSI Cage Change SCSI ID
I have a 2 slot SCSI cage (hot swapable) with 2 harddrives. I need to change the SCSI ID of the two slots to 2 and 3 from 0 and 1, I am adding the cage to an exsiting Array controller with 2 drives already @ 0 and 1.
Can this be done?

Re: Proliant ML330 G3 - SCSI Cage Change SCSI ID
Hi Victor,
By default the SCSI ID would be assigned to the Harddisk by the controller/Scsi backplane. But could manually change the SCSI ID for the Harddisk using the Jumpers on the Harddisk. You could hardset the SCSI Ids.
I am not sure by changing the IDs data will be intact. Backup the data before performing any steps.
Regards,
Rajashekar C.

Re: Proliant ML330 G3 - SCSI Cage Change SCSI ID
The SCSI ID can be changed for Non Hot Pluggable SCSI Hard Drives.I have never seen any jumpers on Hot pluggable drives.
The Hot Pluggable Drives attain the SCSI ID from the Scsi Backplane Slot in which it is put into and cannot be changed.
