Proliant ML330 G3 - can't load XP

We have a Proliant ML330 G3 that has been replaced with a new server, so we'd like to wipe this one clean and load it with Windows XP Pro.
However, when we put in the XP CD to do this, it freezes at the 'Setup is Starting Windows' screen.
Am I unable to load XP PRo? Surely I can.
Anyone else experienced this?
Any help or advice welcomed.

Neil, were you able to install Windows XP? I am also interested in doing the same thing. I would appreciate whatever help you can provide. Thanks!
